Out of Egypt Single Mother’s Ministry began at a dining room table in 1999 as an outcome of a conversation between two single mothers who also happened to be best friends.  Drawing from our personal experience and observation of other single mothers, the struggles, the vulnerabilities, the uniqueness, and hopes of single mothers were discussed, and a scripture from the Bible, 2 Timothy 3:6 came to be the foundation of the ministry.  It was clear to us that God wanted to heal, empower, and equip single mothers to be the strong, healthy, powerful women He created them to be.  The transformation would not only help the mothers, but also have a positive impact on their children, and break the negative cycles in future generations.  Out of Egypt has provided faith based support/teaching groups since its inception, along with two annual special events to celebrate single mothers and their children.  We have witnessed many transformations in the lives of the mothers and children.

Since becoming an official nonprofit ministry October of 2019 it is our intent to continue to offer groups to the single mothers, and a children’s program.  We will continue to hold our annual Mother’s Day Brunch and Christmas party.  Our goal is to progressively add additional services to have a greater impact on the single mothers and children we serve.  Our vision is to provide tangible resources such as help with obtaining food, clothing, hygiene items diapers and financial help; to provide individual counseling with a licensed therapist; job/education training; drug/alcohol recovery groups; and limited shelter resources. The resources will be available to single mothers who have actively participated in and completed the 8-week faith-based support group.

Currently we are offering the 8-week faith-based support groups; a Christmas party and Mother’s Day Brunch; wrap around services to connect single mothers with self-identified services and resources.  If you are a single mother we would love to connect with you regardless of your situation.  You are welcome even if you do not currently have custody of your children.  We look forward to walking on your journey with you.  For those of you that have a heart for single mothers and their children, volunteers and donations are always needed and greatly appreciated.
